This morning we are rolling out updates that will begin requiring users to login to Twapper Keeper (using their Twitter account) when they want to create and export archives.
While we understand that this adds friction to the archive creation process, it will allow us to reduce spam as well as prevent users from archiving other person’s timelines, which was brought up as a concern while gathering requirements for the JISC funded enhancements to the system.
It will also act as the foundation for future enhancements that require us to autenticate the identity of the user.
If you run into any issues with the new capability, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org
(This enhancement aligns with enhancement UI-9 outlined in the post Plans for Updates to Twapper Keeper Functionality and APIs)
